Amazing signs and symptoms of pregnancy

Before you even pass the test (the home pregnancy test, that is) and know for sure that you've got a baby on board, you may get a heads-up in the form of early pregnancy symptoms. Many will be similar to the yucky feeling you get right before your period (bloating, fatigue, breast tenderness…you know the drill), so it may be hard to tell whether they signal incoming Auntie Flo — or motherhood. Still, if you've been TTC and you've got some (or all) of these symptoms, it may be time to pull out an HPT.

Early Symptoms of Pregnancy

  • Missed menstrual periods or very less bleeding during periods.
  • Darkening of nipples
  • Formation of excess saliva
  • Backache
  • Constipation – This is caused most often because the size of the uterus grows and it presses against the bowel.
  • Sleepiness or exhaustion – This starts right from the first week of pregnancy and lasts almost till the last one.
  • Craving for certain food items
  • Repeated and frequent urination – This starts normally after six weeks of pregnancy and most often remains throughout the pregnancy period. This is usually due to hormonal changes and because there is pressure on the bladder too.
  • Nausea and vomiting – This symptom is seen from two to ten weeks of pregnancy and is normally known as morning sickness. However, it can happen anytime in the day.
  • Abdominal cramps especially in the lower abdomen
